CAMEROON NEWS: CABRAL LIBII CALLS ON OPPOSITION PARTIES TO POOL THEIR FORCES AGAINST RDPC FOR THE LEGISLATIVE AND MUNICIPAL ELECTION 2019
ameroondailyjournal.com|The Cameroonian politician Cabral Libii calls on the opposition parties to pool their forces against the Democratic Rally of the Cameroonian People (Rdpc) for the legislative and municipal elections of 2019. If the project is validated, Cabral Libii calls to arouse interest popular for the coalition.
Cameroonians had, however, widely demanded a coalition of opposition forces for the October presidential election. Unable to bring together the nine candidates who took part in this electoral process, only Maurice Kamto and Akere Muna of the FPD rallied to face the ruling party. Cabral Libii, Serge Espoir Matomba, Garga Haman Adji, Ndifor Afanwi and Joshua Osih and Adamou Ndam Njoya did not join the initiative.
All these candidates had not been able to agree on the terms of the formation of the coalition. Cabral Libii had initially requested that primaries be organized in order to achieve the election of the carrier of the coalition. He later changed his mind, arguing that he was opposed to a “two or three” coalition. This earned him strong criticism among the electorate. Some saw signs of betrayal.
