2018 ELECTION: TRADITIONAL LEADERS OF HAUT NYONG QUIETLY WAITS FOR PRESIDENTIAL RESULT

The traditional chiefs of this department have just signed a declaration in which they say no to the disorder and invite the sons and daughters of the locality to accept the verdict of the urns expected today, for the safeguard of peace.
Anxious for the peace and well-being of Cameroonians, concerned about the need to preserve a calm social climate while respecting the republican institutions, affected by tendentious statements by some ill-intentioned people with the sole purpose of plunging the country into the KO In total, all the guards of the tradition of this part of the country come to mobilize in the city of Abond-Mbang to block against these calls to violence.
It was on October 17 in the room of the acts of the town hall of the chief town of this administrative unit which counts 14 districts. It was a question of saying no to the rise of violence following the proclamation of the results of the presidential election of October 7, 2018.
” The initiative comes from the traditional leaders themselves. They are the actors at the forefront in the preservation of social peace, national unity and living together. This meeting was a sample to make this call for peace. The peace that prevailed before and during the elections must continue after these elections. We will all be brothers and we must continue to live together, “says SM Effoudou Bertrand, Chief Executive Maka Bebend.
In a declaration signed unanimously by all the traditional leaders in this department, they condemn the popular and anti-democratic insurgency of some political leaders who want to discredit this presidential election, however calmly led by all the actors involved in particular Elections Cameroon ( ELECAM).
To this end, these traditional authorities, gathered together in a collective, invite all sons and daughters and compatriots living in the department of Haut-Nyong and beyond, to remain in calm and serenity before, during and after the proclamation of the results of the presidential election by the Constitutional Council and according to the canons prescribed by the law.
” The Upper Nyong Department, the Eastern Region and all of Cameroon need peace to develop. You know that without peace nothing is possible, “says SM Effoudou Bertrand.
Highly noticed during this ceremony, the presence of the representatives of the allogeneic communities in particular, the heads of the communities Bamoun, Haoussa and those of the regions of North-West and South-West who live in the cohesion and go about their daily activities in peace in this department.
As in a choir, they sang together the hymn of the call for peace so dear to Cameroonians. “I ask my brothers, sisters and all the English-speaking communities living here that we must continue to preserve peace. The East is a region of peace. Since we arrived here we live in peace, our children go to school here and we conduct our mostly economic activities without the least concern of tribalism and rejection. That’s why we do not want trouble, “said SM Ndiffo Sah, head of the English-speaking community of Abong-Mbang.
And to mark their decision to preserve the peace with an indelible stain, the collective of traditional chiefs of the department of Haut-Nyong beat the pavement, hands in hand while traversing about 10 km, in the arteries of city, reminding to their people the message of peace.
The base of this march was the esplanade of the prefecture of Upper Nyong. On the spot, the declaration was handed over to Godlive Mboke Ntua, patron of the premises, who promised to forward the document to whom promptly.
In response, the Prefectural Authority praised this initiative and recommended the custodians of the tradition of its command unit to continue this action with massive outreach on the ground. This so that no one comes to disturb the serene social climate that currently prevails throughout the department of Haut Nyong.
In short, we remember that the disorder will not pass through this department, more than ever, these people are peace-loving.
