After dismissing all post electoral petitions filed by the opposition, Many say the Constitutional Council is all set to proclaim Paul Biya on Monday, winner of the October 7 polls handing him the chance to extend his thirty-six-year stay in power with another even-year mandate.

Since the council’s results, several protest marches have equally taken place in Germany, America and Burkina Faso, with Cameroonians protesting against what they call unfair ruling of Post-electoral petitions by the Constitutional Council. Many of them, urged incumbent Paul Biya to step down.

The residence of Cameroon’s People Party’s President, Kah Walla was yesterday being surrounded by soldiers.

Eyewitness account reveal the soldiers had used a pick-up truck to block her gate. “They’re armed with machine guns and wearing riot gear”.

According to reports, the soldiers are there to ensure government’s ban in the bid to prevent Kah Walla’s planned protest which was billed for today, October 21.

It would be recalled that Kah Walla and SDF’s Nintcheu were planning a protest march in Douala against what they termed massive fraud in the just ended presidential election in Cameroon.

In Yaounde, security has been beefed up in all major streets, with well armed soldiers ready to block every protest.
